Koloman Moser, the Viennese master of design

El March 30th 1868 the Austrian was born Koloman moser, one of the great icons of the graphic art from the beginning of the XNUMXth century.

Co-founder of Viennese workshops, stood out as one of the main artists of the Vienna Secession.

Koloman Moser studied at the Vienna Academy and the School of Applied Arts, where he also taught from 1899.

In addition, he designed a wide range of works among which excelled books, graphics, magazines, fashion, stained glass, porcelain, ceramics and textiles.

However, Moser's need to create was unstoppable, so he similarly addressed blown glass, tableware, silverware, jewelry, furniture, and more.

With clean lines, repeated motifs and classical Greco-Roman architecture, marked a trend that characterized the works of his time.

Between 1901 and 1902 he published The Origin, a catalog of elegant graphic designs for things like upholstery, fabrics and wallpaper.

Years later he separated from the Vienna Secession, together with the group of Gustav Klimt, as well as the Viennese Workshops.

He died on October 18, 1918, at the age of 50.
